| The History of the oldest butter brand in the world

From the beginning, and up until this day, when LURPAK Butter was exported in wooden barrels primarily to the United Kingdom, it has been world-renowned for its high and very consistent quality. The packaging format was changed from wooden barrels to alufoil wraps in 1957, in response to the changes in consumer demand. Since the end of the last century to the present, LURPAK has experienced an ever-increasing group of consumers. Today, LURPAK butter can be found in more than 100 countries, making it the most widely distributed butter in the world.
The Quality
LURPAK Butter is produced according to the toughest standards of quality, which are never compromised. The quality is guaranteed by weekly assessments, carried out by an independent laboratory in Denmark. At these assesments the quality of LURPAK butter is evaluated. If the product does not meet the standards, it is not exported. This is our guarantee to both our customers and consumers, that they will always buy a product with a very high and consistent quality. | | LURPAK is imported from Denmark and different from domestic butter LURPAK is a lactic butter, which is different to the majority of the domestically produced sweet cream butters. The main points of differentiation when comparing LURPAK Butter to the sweet cream butters are:
- Milder taste
- Slighly acidulous
- More pale in color
- Less greasy appearance
Unlike many brands, LURPAK is packed in alufoil, directly from the butter making machine. This ensures shipment of fresh product with optimal quality. A test on alufoil wrap demonstrated that this type of packaging gives butter the best protection against light, which is one of the primary factors of concern in terms of affecting its quality. |
